MINTY FINDER / PRIVACY

Privacy, explained.

This policy covers the Minty Finder Chrome extension, including certificate reading, official reports and card photos, as well as this website and support email.

EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 23, 2026 · EXTENSION V0.6.6

01 / RECOGNITIONCertificate recognition runs locally in your browser.

02 / STORAGEYour shortlist and preferences stay in your Chrome profile.

03 / CONNECTIONSReports and photos load directly from their providers.

1. Information the extension handles

On supported eBay card listings, Minty Finder reads the listing title, item ID and URL, seller name shown on the listing, price, listing type, grader, grade, certificate number and card image URLs. It can download listing photos and read text, barcodes or QR codes to find the certificate number. You can also enter or correct a certificate number yourself.

When loading supported PSA, TAG or CGC report pages, the extension reads certificate details, card scan URLs and image dimensions, and available PSA price estimates. It keeps recognition text, scan status, errors and timestamps with relevant local records. Browser tab IDs and URLs are used to connect a listing with its report and sidebar view.

Minty Finder does not build a general browsing-history profile, read your passwords or payment details, or require a Minty Finder account.

2. How information is used

This information powers the visible extension features: recognizing and correcting certificates, opening the matching official report, showing card photos beside eBay, saving your shortlist, recognizing previously removed cards and remembering your settings.

Image recognition uses code and recognition resources bundled with the extension. Card photos and recognition results are not uploaded to a Minty Finder server or a remote AI or OCR service. The extension does not include developer-operated analytics, advertising trackers or automatic telemetry uploads.

We do not sell extension user data or use it for personalized advertising, data brokerage, creditworthiness or lending decisions. Minty Finder's use of information received from Chrome extension APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

3. Connections to other services

Local recognition still needs access to card photos and reports. The extension makes HTTPS requests directly to the following services; it does not route them through a Minty Finder backend.

  • eBay and eBay image hosting: listing pages and card photos, including images hosted on i.ebayimg.com.
  • PSA, TAG and CGC: certificate numbers are included in official report URLs so the matching report, scans and available price information can load.
  • Image delivery services: official scans may load from the graders' image hosts, including Amazon CloudFront domains permitted by the extension.

Automatic high-resolution scan retrieval is on by default in v0.6.6. When enabled, it can load official certificate pages in background tabs, retrieve official scans and request PSA price estimates. Turning this setting off in Finder stops new automatic requests for official scans and PSA estimates and cancels pending or in-progress automatic work for both. Cancellation cannot undo requests already received by a provider. Opening a report or loading an image sends the requested URL and normal connection information, such as your IP address and browser request headers, to that provider. Normal report tabs may also use that provider's existing browser cookies or sign-in session.

These services process their requests under their own privacy policies. Minty Finder does not control their logging, cookies or retention.

4. Storage, retention and your controls

Persistent extension data is stored in your Chrome profile using local extension storage. This includes saved candidates and listing details, manually corrected certificate numbers, removed-card history, recognition results, cached scan URLs and metadata, PSA estimate records, settings and zoom preferences. The extension does not use Chrome's sync storage or a developer-operated cloud backup.

Temporary active-listing, report-tab and scan-job state is held in session storage or memory. Local records can remain until you remove them, a cache is replaced, or you uninstall the extension; there is no fixed expiry for all saved data. Chrome and the providers may separately cache downloaded images.

  • Use Finder to remove individual candidates or clear the shortlist. Removing cards or clearing the shortlist preserves removed-card history and does not erase all extension data.
  • Turn off automatic high-resolution scan retrieval in Finder's settings to stop and cancel automatic official-scan and PSA-estimate requests. While it is off, neither feature starts new automatic requests. This does not delete previously cached data. Reports you open manually and eBay listing photos still contact their providers.
  • To remove the extension's locally stored records, remove Minty Finder from Chrome's Extensions page. Clearing normal browsing history alone does not clear extension local storage.
  • To stop all further extension activity, disable or remove Minty Finder in Chrome.

We cannot remotely access, retrieve or delete records held only in your browser. For help with local data controls, contact the support address below.

5. Browser permissions

The extension uses activeTab and tabs to identify the relevant listing, open official reports and manage report-loading tabs; sidePanel to display Finder beside the page; storage to remember local and session data; offscreen to process images locally; and alarms to schedule scan work and retries.

Site access is limited in the manifest to eBay, its image host, PSA, TAG, CGC and the specified scan image hosts. Content scripts run on the supported listing and certificate pages needed for these features.

6. This website and support email

The introduction website does not ask for an account or add analytics, advertising trackers, tracking cookies or local storage. Product screenshots are included as website assets. Google Fonts receives requests when fonts load, and Cloudflare hosts the deployed website. These providers can process normal network and security information such as IP addresses and request metadata under their own policies.

If you email sosocollectibles@gmail.com, the Minty Finder team receives your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. We use them to respond and troubleshoot, retain correspondence as needed to handle the request, and use Gmail to receive and manage it. You may request deletion of support correspondence by emailing the same address, subject to any required legal retention. Please avoid sending passwords, payment details or unrelated personal information.

7. Changes and contact

We will update this page and its effective date when these practices change. Material changes to extension data handling will also be disclosed through the applicable extension or store update process.
